In the heart of Hatton Garden, hidden amongst the many different jewellery shops which make up London’s iconic jewellery district, in a building particularly designed for the diamond trade, lies the London Diamond Bourse (LDB).
An organization steeped in history and the only diamond trading floor in the UK. An organisation with such an interesting past, and such an interesting future. You are encouraged to read our history and to understand the beginnings of what used to be a small club formed by Jewish settlers after the second World War in a little cafe. Today, the LDB has a more diverse membership and is recognised by the Foreign and Commenwealth Office as a Trade Association. We are a prominent member of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) and are one of only 30 active diamond trading floors in the world.
To count yourself as one of the members of our organisation is an honour not given all those that apply. Membership is offered based on an individual basis and you will be subject to various checks before you are admitted to our organisation. You will also need to commit to operate under ours and the WFDB rules.
We are located within walking distance of Farringdon and Chancery Lane tube stations. The West End is only minutes away, as is the City of London. Not forgetting the Crossrail will be on our doorstep in 2018.
Full, Associated and Affiliated Memberships have been created to suit your needs – whether you are based locally or nationally and require a secure base to work which can enable you to conduct your business in a secure and like minded London location, we have the facilities for you. The public have faith in the integrity of our organization and we provide trade association governance on their behalf. You will see our logo displayed within the industrys finest jewellers and associated industry professional services.
If you are a member of the public, rest assured that a member of the LDB is subject to our governance and with the backing of the WFDB, members are accountable for their business dealings and are subject to a strict code of conduct and rules.
Some of our members hove been involved since the Bourse was formed in 1945, however rest assured we do have younger members too. If you feel that we may be of value to you and your business, and you would like to apply to be a member, then why not get in touch and we can discuss the benefits and take you through the application process.
