London Diamond Bourse Mentor Programme Membership

These terms and conditions (“Agreement”) govern your Mentor Programme membership of the London Diamond Bourse (“LDB”). By applying for and paying the annual membership fee of £300 inc VAT, or monthly membership fee of £30 inc VAT, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions outlined below. Please read this Agreement carefully before applying for membership.

  1. Membership Eligibility: 1.1 To be eligible for a mentor programme membership at the LDB, you must provide valid proof of your student status, previous education experience or new interest to the industry such as a current student ID card, letter of enrolment, previous education certification or a letter from your educational institution. 1.2 You must be at least 18 years old to apply for membership.
  1. Membership Duration: 2.1 Your Mentor Programme membership at LDB is valid for one calendar year, starting from the date of payment of the annual membership fee. If selecting rolling monthly membership, your membership is valid for one calendar month, starting from the date of payment of the monthly membership fee. 2.2 LDB reserves the right to modify the duration of the membership term at its sole discretion. In such cases, reasonable notice will be given to members.
  1. Membership Fee: 3.1 The annual membership fee for Mentor Programme membership at LDB is £300 inc VAT, payable in full at the time of application via a secure payment link provided or BACS payment. Annual membership is renewed annually from the date of payment. A minimum of one calendar month notice is required to terminate membership in writing to mentor@londondiamondbourse.com. 3.2 The membership fee for the rolling monthly Mentor Programme membership is £30 inc VAT, payable in full on the 1st of each month from the time of application by standing order. Monthly membership is renewed on a rolling monthly basis. A minimum of one calendar month notice is required to terminate membership in writing to mentor@londondiamondbourse.com. 3.3 The membership fee is non-refundable, except in cases where LDB determines that the application for membership is ineligible or in the event of exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of LDB.
  1. Membership Benefits: 4.1 As an LDB Mentor Programme member, you will be entitled to the following benefits: a) Access to a designated LDB member mentor, for a monthly 1-1 session to be organised at a mutual time between the Mentee and Mentor. b) Participation in LDB events and seminars. c) Networking opportunities within the LDB. d) Depending on membership type, access to free or reduced rate LDB educational courses. e) After successful completion of two years as a mentor programme member, where the member has consistently engaged in mentoring sessions and events hosted by the LDB, students are eligible to apply for full membership to the LDB. These membership benefits may be altered at the discretion of the LDB council. All members will be notified of any changes to their membership benefits.
  1. Membership Obligations: 5.1 As a Mentor Programme member, you agree to abide by the rules and regulations set forth by LDB. 5.2 You agree to conduct yourself in a professional and respectful manner. 5.3 You agree to comply with all local, national, and international laws related to the diamond industry while utilizing LDB facilities and services. 5.4 You agree to the strict prohibition of all trading within the LDB for the duration of your student membership. Trading within the LDB as a student member will result in the immediate suspension of your membership, with the fee paid becoming non-refundable.
  1. Membership Termination: 6.1 LDB reserves the right to terminate or suspend your Mentor Programme membership at its sole discretion in the event of: a) Non-compliance with the rules and regulations of LDB. b) Misconduct or inappropriate behaviour. c) Violation of any laws or regulations related to the diamond industry. d) False or misleading information provided during the application process. 6.2 In the event of membership termination, the annual membership fee will not be refunded.
  1. Amendments to Terms and Conditions: 7.1 LDB reserves the right to amend or modify these terms and conditions at any time. 7.2 Any amendments or modifications to the terms and conditions will be communicated to the members via email or other appropriate means. 7.3 Continued membership after receiving notice of amendments will constitute acceptance of the modified terms and conditions.
  1. Governing Law and Jurisdiction: 8.1 This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. 8.2 Any disputes arising from or in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

By applying for Mentor Programme membership and paying the membership fee, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by the above terms and conditions set forth by the London Diamond Bourse.
